Hearty Meat and Potato Dish: Loaded Potato Loaf with Bacon and Sausage

Ingredients
Potato Base:
4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Meat Filling:
1/2 lb bacon, chopped
1/2 lb breakfast or Italian sausage, crumbled
1 small onion, finely chopped
Cheese and Topping:
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and cube the russet potatoes.
Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Step 2: Cook the Meat Filling
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crisp. Remove the bacon, leaving the grease in the pan.
Add the crumbled sausage and finely chopped onion to the skillet. Cook until the sausage is browned and the onion is softened.
Step 3: Mash the Potatoes
Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot.
Add butter, milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Assemble the Dish
Fold in most of the crispy bacon and cooked sausage mixture, reserving some for topping.
Mix in half the shredded cheddar cheese.
Step 5: Bake
