Apple and Caramel Croissant Tart

Ingredients (for 1 tart, approx. 26 cm diameter)
For the base:

3–4 croissants (preferably from the day before)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

50 g butter (melted)

For the filling:

3 apples (e.g., Elstar or Boskop)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

For the caramel:

100 g sugar

30 g butter

100 ml heavy cream

1 pinch of salt

For serving (optional):

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
