Warm Apple, Cinnamon and Pecan Bake

Making the Apple Filling 🍏
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a large bowl, combine sliced or diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), lemon juice, and flour. Mix well so all apples are coated.
Pour apple mixture into baking dish and spread evenly.
Making the Crunchy Topping 🥣🌰
In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, chopped pecans, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients together thoroughly.
Add the cold, cubed butter to the oat mixture. Using your fingers, a fork, or a suitable utensil, mix the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs or wet sand. It’s important that the butter is cold to ensure a crispy texture.
Assembling and Baking the Cake 🥧
Spread the crunchy topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender (you can test with a fork) and the topping is golden brown and bubbly. If the topping starts to brown too quickly, you can tent it loosely with foil.
Cool and Serve 🍽️
Remove the roast from the oven and let it cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. This will allow the apple juices to settle and thicken a bit.
Serving Tips:
This roast is absolutely delicious served warm, plain.

For an even more indulgent experience, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (the hot-cold contrast is divine!).

A dollop of whipped cream or heavy cream also works well.

Enjoy this wonderful apple, cinnamon and pecan roast, which will fill your home with an incredible aroma and your taste buds with an explosion of flavors and textures!
