Super Easy Poppy Seed Roll

🍞 Super Easy Poppy Seed Roll Recipe
Makes: 2 medium rolls

🧂 Ingredients:
For the dough:

3 cups all-purpose flour

2¼ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast

¼ cup sugar

½ tsp salt

1 cup warm milk (about 110°F / 43°C)

¼ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

1 egg

For the filling:

1 can (about 12 oz / 340 g) poppy seed filling (like Solo brand)
or make your own—just ask if you’d like the homemade version!

Optional glaze:

1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)

Powdered sugar glaze (½ cup powdered sugar + 1–2 tsp milk)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions:
Make the dough:

In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

Stir in the egg, oil/butter, and salt.

Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.

Knead by hand or with a mixer for about 5 minutes until smooth. (Add a little more flour if it’s too sticky.)

Cover the bowl with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
