Putting orchid leaves in water: what happens

Once the leaves are disinfected, immerse the plant’s roots in a glass of water for 30 minutes using the garlic water prepared earlier. Then, dry the plant and place it upside down in a plastic cup.
Before doing so, pierce holes in the top of the cup to allow the plant to breathe.

Additionally, these holes allow the base of the plant to retain moisture.

Add tap water to the glass. Be careful not to fill it completely, but add just enough water to cover the initial portion of the leaves. Cover with another glass and leave the plant like this for 45 days.

After 45 days: Results
During these 45 days, the plant’s roots will become very strong. To ensure their health, the roots should be sprayed with tap water every 3 days. After another 75 days, the roots will have grown healthy and robust. At this point, the plant can be transplanted into a new pot, using pine bark as a base. Before transplanting, water the plant and let it soak in the remaining garlic water for 30 minutes.
