1 tsp paprika 🌶️
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional) 🌀
1 tsp salt 🧂
1/2 tsp black pepper 🌶️
2 tbsp olive oil 🫒
6 cups water 💧
Instructions:
1. Sauté the meat & onion: In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté the meat and onion until golden brown. 🍲
2. Add spices & tomatoes: Stir in turmeric, paprika, salt, black pepper, tomato paste, and blended tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes. 🌶️
3. Simmer with chickpeas & lentils: Add chickpeas, lentils, celery, and half of the parsley/cilantro. Pour in water and let it simmer for 45 minutes. 🕰️
4. Thicken the soup: Mix flour with a little water and pour it into the soup while stirring continuously. Let it cook for another 10 minutes. 🌾
5. Add vermicelli & finish: Add vermicelli and let it cook for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining parsley/cilantro before serving. 🍜🌿
6. Serve hot: Enjoy with dates or traditional Moroccan bread! 🥖✨
