Mama’s Chicken Pie

1️⃣ Cooking the Chicken:
Place the chicken in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook thoroughly. Remove the chicken (save the cooking liquid), let cool, and chop the meat.

2️⃣ Mixing Together Chicken, Soup, Broth, Salt, and Pepper:
In a mixing bowl, stir together the soup, broth, salt, and pepper. Stir in the chicken and combine well.

Baking the chicken pie in the oven.

3️⃣ Spoon Half the Mixture into the Baking Dish:
Lightly spray a 9×9 baking dish with cooking spray. Spoon half of the chicken mixture into the bottom and spread it around evenly.

4️⃣ Topping with Pie Crust and Butter:
Cover the mixture with a layer of pie crust strips. Dot the strips with 1 tablespoon of butter.

5️⃣ Baking the Chicken Pie:
Place the pie in a 400°F (200°C) oven and bake for 25 minutes.

6️⃣ Spoon Remaining Chicken Mixture Over the Pie Crust:
Remove from the oven and spoon the remaining chicken mixture over the pie crust.

7️⃣ Top with Remaining Crust and Butter:
Place the remaining pie crust strips on top. Dot with the remaining tablespoon of butter.

Continuing to bake the chicken pie in the oven.

8️⃣ Continue Baking:
Return the pie to the oven for another 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
