What now?
Turn off the freezer. To avoid accidents, unplug the power cord.
Empty the contents: Place food in a cooler or insulated container to keep it fresh.
Cover the walls with aluminum foil: Apply aluminum foil to the inside walls of the freezer. This prevents the ice from becoming encrusted and can be removed more easily.
Add a heat source: Place a bowl or small pot of boiling water in the center of the appliance. Steam speeds up the defrosting process.
Removal of melted ice: Thanks to the aluminum, the ice is easy to remove. No more scraping for hours!
Within a few minutes your freezer will be ready to be plugged in again. This economical and eco-friendly tip allows you to effectively clean your appliance without chemicals and without excessive effort.
