Hamburger buns

1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes, until foamy.

2. Add the salt, oil, and flour. Mix the ingredients until smooth.

3. Knead the dough for 5 to 7 minutes, until elastic.

4. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let rest in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, until the dough has doubled in size.

5. Once risen, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and form into balls.
6. Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and bake for an additional 30 minutes.

7. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Brush the loaves with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.

8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
