Grilled Peppers with Garlic, Basil and Olive Oil

1. Prepare the peppers:
Wash and seed the peppers.
Slice them into wide strips (as pictured).
2. Grill or pan-fry:
Heat a grill pan (or a regular skillet) over high heat without any fat.
Grill the pepper strips for 3-5 minutes per side until tender and charred. 3. Seasoning:
As soon as they are cooked, place the peppers in a salad bowl.
Add the minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, and vinegar or lemon juice (if using).
Toss gently to coat.
4. Rest and Serve:
Let stand for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Serve warm or at room temperature with chopped fresh basil on top.
