A balcony full of plants always looks good, especially in the spring and summer months when you can keep our green friends away from home more calmly, which of course ensures the right protection in particularly strong heat. However, it is not uncommon for our plants to be attacked by various pests that appear especially in the warmest period. That is why, with the arrival of beautiful days and higher temperatures, we must always take a look at our plants on the balcony or in the garden. Among the many insects that can bother our green friends, there are also green bed bugs …..
Green bed bugs on plants: the best ways to get rid of them
These insects sprout mainly in summer and lie on the leaves of plants. The reason is quite simple: green bed bugs feed on plant sap.
They do not harm humans, but on the contrary can pose a very serious risk to plants.
Fortunately, there are methods to rid plants of these insects . Many choose to rely on chemical solutions that are easy to find on the market, but the advice is to focus more on natural and organic remedies instead.
To give just one example, garlic macerate is an ideal ingredient to repel these insects from plants. The preparation of this completely natural component is really very simple.
Take a few cloves of garlic – about 80 grams – and chop them into small pieces, then immerse them in water (about 24 liters, editor’s note) for about 5 hours.
After this time, all that remains is to filter the mixture and use the liquid obtained to vaporize the foliage of the plants . In this way, we will have given the plant an excellent ally against these insects, which will also keep other pests away.
Another element that allows the plant to stop having to deal with green bed bugs is neem oil . About ten drops of this ingredient are enough: pour them into a liter of water and mix well.
