In a bowl, mix apple slices with melted butter, sugar or maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
Add oats or crushed nuts and toss to coat evenly.
Arrange on baking sheet:
Spread slices in a single layer with space between them for better crisping.
Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy at the edges.
Cool slightly before serving. They’ll crisp up a bit more as they cool.
