Soak onion slices in buttermilk for 10–15 minutes.

Dredge onions in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
Lightly spray air fryer basket with oil. Arrange onions in a single layer.
Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway, until golden and crispy.
