Caramel custard like grandma’s
- In a saucepan, melt 50 g of sugar over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar becomes liquid and turns a golden color.
- When the caramel has reached the right consistency, quickly pour it into the bottom of the pot or into a pudding mold, spreading it evenly. Let it cool.
- Prepare the Custard:
- In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the flour and mix well.
- Heating the Milk:
- In a saucepan, heat the milk with the vanilla extract. Bring the milk just below the boiling point.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Cook the Cream:
- Pour the mixture into the saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk.
- Continue cooking until the cream begins to thicken and reaches the desired consistency.
- Add the Caramel:
- Once you have reached your desired consistency, add the cooled caramel to the custard. Mix well until you get a uniform cream.
- Cool and Serve:
- Pour the caramel custard into a bowl or individual containers. Let cool in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Garnish (optional):
- You can top the cream with powdered sugar, additional caramel, or fresh fruit before serving.
