Baked Asiago Hash Browns
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, Asiago cheese, chopped onion, and minced garlic.
3. In a smaller bowl, mix together the sour cream, melted butter, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Pour this mixture over the potato mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
4. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
6. Sprinkle fresh chives over the top just before serving.
Variations & Tips
If Asiago cheese isn’t to your liking, you can easily substitute with sharp cheddar or Gruyère for a different flavor profile. For a bit of spice, try adding finely chopped jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper to the mix. If you want to make this dish even heartier, stir in some cooked bacon or diced ham before baking. For a beautiful presentation, consider baking the mixture in individual ramekins for personal-sized servings.
