Adriana Karembeu spoke in an interview for Le Parisien. She notably mentioned a habit of the French which annoys her.

“I love everything about the French: their intelligence, their kindness, their innate elegance… Their only fault is thinking that they don’t need to speak a language other than their own! You think you are self-sufficient, in a way,” she said with a laugh.

“Nevertheless, you are adorable because you find my accent and my many mistakes charming! You spoil me,” she added, explaining what she loved most about France. For her, this country rhymes with freedom. “Freedom of expression, which I was not accustomed to in my native Czechoslovakia.”

Adriana Karembeu discovered independence in France

It was in France that she was able to gain her independence and act as she saw fit. “In my life’s journey, it was here, for the first time, that I was independent and that I was able, far from my father’s influence, to decide for myself.”

So, if one element can annoy her about the French, it is the love she feels for this country which has allowed her to live the life she leads today.
