Soft and airy buns

🌾 500 g wheat flour (type 450 or 550)
πŸ₯› 250 ml warm milk
🍯 2 tablespoons sugar
🍞 7 g dry yeast (or 25 g fresh)
🧈 50 g butter (melted and cooled)

πŸ§‚ 1/2 teaspoon salt
πŸ₯š 1 egg for brushing (optional)
πŸ”ͺ Preparation steps:
1️⃣ Yeast activation:
In a bowl, mix the warm milk πŸ₯›, sugar 🍯 and yeast 🍞. Let it sit for 10 minutes, until the yeast starts to work (it should foam).
2️⃣ Preparation of the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour 🌾, salt πŸ§‚, egg πŸ₯š and active yeast. Add melted butter 🧈 and knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a cloth and leave in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled in volume.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball or an oblong shape (as in the photo). Place the rolls in an oven dish or on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave some space between the rolls.
4️⃣ Second rise:
Cover the rolls and leave them to rest for 30 minutes, so that they can double in volume.
5️⃣ Baking:
Preheat the oven to 180Β°C πŸ”₯. Brush the rolls with beaten egg πŸ₯š for a nice shine. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
6️⃣ Application:
Allow the rolls to cool slightly after baking. Serve warm or at room temperature. 🌟
