πΎ 500 g wheat flour (type 450 or 550)
π₯ 250 ml warm milk
π― 2 tablespoons sugar
π 7 g dry yeast (or 25 g fresh)
π§ 50 g butter (melted and cooled)
π₯ 1 egg (for the dough)
π§ 1/2 teaspoon salt
π₯ 1 egg for brushing (optional)
πͺ Preparation steps:
1οΈβ£ Yeast activation:
In a bowl, mix the warm milk π₯, sugar π― and yeast π. Let it sit for 10 minutes, until the yeast starts to work (it should foam).
2οΈβ£ Preparation of the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour πΎ, salt π§, egg π₯ and active yeast. Add melted butter π§ and knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a cloth and leave in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled in volume.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball or an oblong shape (as in the photo). Place the rolls in an oven dish or on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave some space between the rolls.
4οΈβ£ Second rise:
Cover the rolls and leave them to rest for 30 minutes, so that they can double in volume.
5οΈβ£ Baking:
Preheat the oven to 180Β°C π₯. Brush the rolls with beaten egg π₯ for a nice shine. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
6οΈβ£ Application:
Allow the rolls to cool slightly after baking. Serve warm or at room temperature. π
