Here’s a fun recipe for a Philly cheese croissant ring, perfect for serving a crowd with all the delicious flavors of a classic cheesesteak!
Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) thinly sliced steak (ribeye, sirloin, or deli roast)
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
8 oz (225 g) shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
2 boxes (8 oz each) refrigerated croissant dough
Instructions
Preheat oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the filling:
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using). Sauté until tender and golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Season the vegetables with a pinch of salt and pepper, then set aside.
In the same skillet, cook the steak until golden brown, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Let cool slightly.
Assemble the crescent ring:
Unroll the croissant dough and separate the triangles.
On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange the crescent triangles in a circle, with the wide ends slightly overlapping to form a ring. The points should be facing outward, like a sunburst.
Arrange the steak, sautéed vegetables, and grated cheese along the base of the ring where the triangles overlap.
Wrap the filling:
