🍰 Basbousa (Middle Eastern Semolina Cake)

Ingredients
For the cake:

200g semolina

200g sugar

200g full-fat yogurt

100g melted butter

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

1/4 cup almonds or coconut flakes (optional for garnish)

For the syrup:

200g sugar

200ml water

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon rose water or orange blossom water (optional, for added fragrance)
