3 Home Tips for Dry Cleaning and Disinfecting a Mattress

White vinegar
is a staple in the household cleaning industry, but it seems it hasn’t earned its reputation. Among the disinfectants and antibacterial agents, there’s this white liquid that our grandmothers always used to polish, disinfect, descale, and shine all surfaces in the house. It can also be a good alternative to bleach, which is irritating to the respiratory tract. To reap the benefits when cleaning your mattress, and especially to eliminate urine odor, start by pouring white vinegar into a plant sprayer and spraying it on the mattress. Then, sprinkle a little baking soda on top so it absorbs all the moisture and also eliminates stains and bacteria. Let it sit for a few minutes before vacuuming.

Sommières Land
For dry cleaning, Sommières land is your best friend. It’s a powerful stain remover for removing the toughest stains from clothing and all textiles. Sprinkle this product on the mattress and let it soak in for a few minutes. Brush the entire mattress in circular motions with a clean, soft-bristled brush, then vacuum it to clean the bedding.

Other stain removers and cleaning agents, such as hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, liquid soap such as Marseille soap or black soap, dishwashing liquid, and soda crystals, can also be used to remove textile stains. However, to do this, you must wet and moisten the mattress and let it dry in the sun for hours. This isn’t always possible. Furthermore, even small amounts of water can penetrate various parts of the mattress and cause mold. This can lead to allergies, respiratory problems, and many other discomforts.
